Factory-Reconditioned Ridgid ZRR82235 12V Cordless JobMax Oscillating Multi-Tool Starter Kit
I am a rock, carpenter / joiner by trade and bought this tool about two months ago for simple tasks like cutting down existing baseboard, trim, door jambs or cut the plug hole in the plywood. Anyone who has used these type tools by Fein is Macdaddy of oscilating tool and, unfortunately, still command a high price. I took the rigid model for something cheap and easy to grab a few cases where it works better than the usual puzzles or pull saw.
I have used this tool about 1012 times over the past two months and has been deliberately put there by speed. I've never tried two stiff wings that came with the drive, instead I went straight to a reliable cut capacity Bosch blades. I have yet to drain a battery even after heavy use (but the batteries are still new, so it's not that impressive). I recently had to cut a 22 "X28" shelf flake board with oak veneer in place, it was dado'd on all three sides of the upper portion of a refrigerator cabinet. So basically I had to throw the rock and move along the nearly 80 "of flake board continuously. Was surprised that the unit kept cutting the same high speed as when I started I.
Before you buy this tool, reported earlier reviews of the device is switched off unexpectedly. I've experienced this a few times and it can be annoying. The unit has done that for me is not in use, but after releasing the trigger and then when it is reengaed it will be something. I do not think there is a battery problem, I think it's a contact problem that dust get into somewhere that interupts the connection. I would also be skeptical said isolated issues that are relevant to overheating, as I said, I have many times probably drove the device beyond its intended purpose and experienced no problems, but I've gone out a few simple cuts and have had the device. I also bought the extra battery and replaced them during one of the tools small outbreaks, no difference.
If this type of tool was something I had to use every day, I would certainly drop $ 300 for Fein, but when I do, I can deal with Stiff Little ticks, but I would not have to. I'm still on the fence about returning it. If it were not for isolated problem, would this tool that the price will probably be superior in the wireless category.

Ridgid R82235 12V Cordless JobMax Oscillating Multi-Tool Starter Kit
I have the starter kit for about a month. I also have all the other attached heads, right angle impact driver's head in right angle drill / screwdriver head ratchet head and hammer head. I compared the results with another tool that makes it comparable jobs and found the Ridgid JobMax not impressive. All Annex angle wrenches therefore design for tight spaces, except for garbage head. The following is my experience with the tool:
1) The multi-tool head: the saw is really designed for use in tight spaces, small and fine cut. There is no need to use this to cut a 2x4, if I must, as in a tight space where a circular or reciprocal so would not fit. The sanding pad, which is OK, but even for small confined spaces.
2) The right angle drill / drive: it is moderately strong, again, design for tight space operation. At about 550rpm,. A little slow for use as a right angle grinder, sander or router
3) The right angle impact driver: a power driver for a tight space. My regular 9.8V drill / drive can do the job without effect.
4) The hammer head: it is the worst of all "principal" and is a joke. The hammer head is well below the current, and the tree lost most of the time. This JobMax hammer head could not pound nails into 2x4 at all. I tried different sizes of nails, it just could not cope. My Ridgid air palm hammer can do the job quickly and better.
5) The ratchet head: this is the best attachment heads of all. Other than that it is a bit large, it works really well. It is powerful enough to run the stock screws into 2x4. It is much better than doing it manually latch.
6) Battery: The battery seems to be a sudden death of the battery. The battery does not go down when empty, it just suddenly die without warning and must be charged. I have two batteries to deal with the sudden death behavior.
In summary, this is a Jack of all trades and master of none.

Factory-Reconditioned Dremel 6300-02L-RT 120-Volt Multi-Max Oscillating Kit
Before I get into the product itself, a quick review of the CPO Dremel. The refurb tool was in perfect condition - if it were not for the sticker on the handle that said it was a refurb, you'd think it was brand new. The blade, flexible scraping and sanding attachment was brand new and sealed in plastic. The big difference is that it comes in a plain brown box, and there is only a 1 year warranty instead of 2 years you get with a new device. Good way to save a few bucks - when I ordered it the price was much lower than the new ones. Prices change a lot, but be sure to compare before buying.
Multi-Max is a very useful tool, provided you understand its limitations. It is perfect for homeowner use and is very handy for jobs that make a plunge cut in wood or plaster, undercut the trim when you install the floor, removing and tight pull off. It is the work I have used it and every time I have been very pleased with the ease of use and the final results. Makes me look like I am a better carpenter than I really am!
I have had no problems with the magazine comes out as some have reported. There are a number listed in a FAQ on the Dremel website if you want to get a better disc assembly (they send it to you free). So far I have not had need of it - just make sure the disc is placed properly (there are stickers and posters all over the tool and instructions telling you how to find it) and tighten the holding bolt. Zero problems for me after hours of use. But, I'll call them enough to get a better washer system just in case we need on the road.
It is not a tool that can withstand the harsh and heavy to use a professional contractor or carpenter dishes out. There's a reason why they Fein costs so much more - it's built to withstand much heavier than the Dremel. I doubt it would last more than a few months in the hands of a contractor who uses it every day. For the typical homeowner, but it is a great way to get 95% of the benefits of a Fein at a fraction of the price. More than sturdy enough for ordinary homeowners to use around the house.
I went with the versus Rockwell mainly after Dremel blades are much easier to find. You can get them on Amazon, or if you need one immediately, you can find them on the big box stores.
Usage Tip: Do not force the tool - let it do the job. You get a much cleaner cut, and you will extend the life of the blade.
Update June 2011: I have had this for almost two years and is still going strong. Just used it the other day to cut a damaged wooden slat to replace it. Perfectly clean cut - no way I could have done without it. Going through oak floors took a while even with metal / wood blade, but it did. Zero problems so far, and I will buy it again in a heartbeat. I still want to get a Fein because I love how they work and feel, but it gets the job done a whole lot smaller. There is no entrepreneurial class as hard as a Fein but really practical for the homeowner-grade use.

Dremel 8300-01 12-Volt Cordless Multi-Max Oscillating Kit
After seeing a demonstration of a $ 19k oscillating used in orthopedic surgery, I thought it would be good to have a saw to overthrow the [nonsurgical] jobs around the house and in my home shop. Fortunately, Dremel has recently introduced this oscillating so that shares some design elements and 12V lithium battery with my Dremel rotary tool 8200th With the ability to cut out, sand, scrape, Dremel 8300 a very versatile tool that provides both mobility and strength. I have been very happy with my purchase.
After having been well impressed with my Dremel 8200, I was eager to see what other cordless tools from Dremel that I could use. Like the Dremel 8200 Rotary saw, Dremel 8300 oscillating so very solidly constructed - more robust than the Dremel rotary tool 10.8. In addition, owns both 8200 and 8300 gives the owner the benefit of three interchangeable batteries (two from 8300 oscillating saw) and two chargers.
My first test left me impressed with a combination of power Dremel 8300 with the dexterity of the user uses. In my first use of the Dremel 8300 I made the step into the soft wood and high density fiberboard without breaking sweat. In both cases it was very much controlled. Jump cuts were made orthogonal. On the other hand rotary saws ability to base semispherical throw, there is much less useful. Dremel 8300 manual suggests, from side to side excursion of the blade, only three (3) degrees. Such a narrow excursion produces cuts that are almost perfectly rectangular.
My grinding tests showed that the tool is powerful, but at the same time, makes great attention to detail. The cylindrical grip in combination with a Reuleaux triangular sanding pad gives you precise control over the effective grinding area. It is much easier to use than than even the smallest palm oscillating saw. The triangular adning pad allows the user to grind relatively tight curves. Interestingly, preventing the design of the Dremel 8300 user's hand from vibrating discomfort and numbness often experienced with traditional Sanders.
In 8300 and 8200 saw oscillating rotary tool is perfect pair for each store. The build quality, ergonomics and versatility is unmatched. After having spent less Dremel rotary tool 10.8 in the past, I can say that both 8200 and 8300 is in another class with their robustness and power. Again, the Dremel has a first class product.
Pros
Versatile - rock, sand, scrape with a tool
Batteries interchangeable with other 12v Dremel tool
Nice bag
Robust construction
Comfort - reduced numbness
Cons
Few accessories included
